Reckless Driving and Speeding Ticket

She saw lights and heard the sirens. It dawned on her that it was a law enforcement officer. He pulled her over and approached her vehicle. He asked her if she knew how fast she had been traveling. She quickly tried to explain what had happened and why she was driving fast. Her pleas fell on deaf ears. The Officer said he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, implying that she was making it up.

Then a ray of hope, traffic cameras. She knew there were traffic cameras in the area. She begged the Officer to check the cameras. Too much work. If she wanted to call she was welcome to. She received a ticket for reckless driving and speeding.

Her driver's license was in danger, even a possible jail sentence. She called the city and the Colorado Department of Transportation, attempting to retrieve camera footage. Unfortunately, the cameras were not turned on at the time – a dead end.

Fighting for a Dismissal

I reviewed the police reports and phone records showing my client did indeed make the phone calls looking for the camera footage. To the deputy district attorney’s credit, after listening to the whole story and after several court appearances, the deputy district attorney agreed to dismiss the case. Truth prevailed.
